In Henri Nowen's book The Way of the Heart, he describes the prayer of the heart as a discipline that allows God to transform our hearts. And that transformation leads to peace and rest. He says, "Temptations and struggles will remain to the end of our lives, but with a pure heart we will be restful even in the midst of a restless existence."
This quote has shaped the message that I will be sharing on December 1 at First Free Church in Manchester, Mo. I'd love to see you there. I will share the message on my blog after the event, so check back to read my comments. It may seem a little on the heavy and serious side, but I will also be talking about Chuck E. Cheese so you won't want to miss it.
